【Press Release】Yokohama National University and Resonac Corporation Sign Comprehensive Partnership Agreement

Tokyo - April 22, 2025 - Yokohama National University (Hodogaya-ku, Yokohama City, President Izuru Umehara) and Resonac Corporation (Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO Hidehito Takahashi) entered into a comprehensive partnership agreement on April 21, 2025, with the aim of advancing next-generation semiconductor technology and enhancing created value through research and development, as well as fostering human resources to contribute to the future development of the semiconductor industry.

While the two entities have already been collaborating, we resolved this time to strengthen our partnership further. By deepening our cooperation, we aim to leverage the outcomes of their collaborative efforts to benefit the semiconductor industry and foster human resource development, thereby contributing to society.

Cooperative Matters under this Agreement:
(1) Research, development, and social implementation of materials required for next-generation semiconductors.
(2) Exchange and development of human resources for advanced research on next-generation semiconductors.
(3) Other matters deemed beneficial to the objectives of this agreement.

Expected Key Activities:
Yokohama National University and Resonac Corporation have previously discussed cooperative research and co-creation regarding materials and processes to be utilized in the downstream of semiconductor production.
Yokohama National University established a Semiconductor and Quantum Integrated Electronics Research Center within its Institute of Advanced Sciences in fiscal year 2024, aiming to lead research and development of advanced heterogeneous integration technologies that combine different devices. It seeks to establish itself as a leading research hub both domestically and internationally.
Resonac Corporation possesses world-class semiconductor materials and state-of-the-art downstream-processing equipment for semiconductors at its research and development facilities, guided by its vision as a "Co-creative Chemical Company." The company is actively engaged in consortium activities.
Through these new co-creative efforts, Yokohama National University and Resonac Corporation will contribute to society.
